Dr. Miles Groth: "The Boy Is Father To The Man"

These videos were posted at the Society for Humanistic Psychology blog, Division 32 of the American Psychological Association. Dr. Groth teaches in the psychology department at Wagner College where specializes in the study of being male, especially the transition from boyhood to manhood. He was originally trained as a psychoanalyst, although he currently identifies with the humanist lineage in psychology.

Groth is one of the driving forces behind the effort to create a Male Studies program, in opposition to the current Men's Studies program, which he and others dismiss as feminized and worthless. He is the editor of the new journal, New Male Studies: An International Journal.

Groth presented his talk "The Boy Is Father To The Man" at the 2011 AIMHS Symposium (Australia).
